I also own the original 6 gallon Edge and have loved that little tank for the past 2 years. It had some downfalls, mostly in the lighting department, but that has been corrected with the new Edge 2. I'm not sure if the new LED system is enoght for a live plant enthusiast, but it sure does seem pretty bright.
The tank is an amazing design. It looks like nothing else out there. If you want friends and family to go "WOW!" when they see your aquarium, this is the tank for you. The design does however tend to make regular maintnance a bit more involved. For instance, you will have to drain some water out before you can even think about reacj=hing into this tank. There is no room for error when it comes to volume displacement. stick more than your finger tips in and you will have an overflow, but it is well worth it, trust me.
Helpful hint: I use a 60 watt Deep Blue heat stik for my heater. It is small enough to fit inside the filter with a little modification and seems to be just the right wattage for the tank. My temperature stays right around 78f.

It includes LED lighting, so it makes a spectacular substitute for tabletop lamps. EDGE consists of two main components working in perfect harmony: a clear glass aquarium nestled inside an elegant pedestal.
